Things to know about electrolysis

What is electrolysis? A method of removing hair that uses heated fine needles to cauterise the hair root.

Which areas of the body can I use electrolysis for? Common treatment areas include the upper lip, chin, neck, sides of face, thick eyebrows, low hair line, between the eyebrows, between the breasts and around the nipples.

How does the treatment feel? You may feel slight discomfort and notice that the skin may redden; this usually disappears in an hour or so.

How long does it take? Each person is different and the treatment results are progressive. Usually after each treatment, your hair may grow back fairer and finer. It may take longer to return until it comes to a stage where it doesn't grow back at all.

Is it safe? It is safe. The treatment is approved by the medical community. We use disposable and sterile needles. We ensure that every customer has a new, sterile needle for treatment.

About red vein treatment

What are red veins? They are dilated capillaries or small red lines found around the nose and on the cheeks.

What are the causes for red veins? Causes may range from hereditary to dehydration, excessive sunbathing and exposure to the elements.

How can red veins be removed? A qualified electrologist uses small amounts of heat to cauterise the dilated capillary.

How will my skin look after the treatment? Your skin may redden but an antiseptic cream is applied to minimise this. During the following days, a small scab may appear, but will soon heal.

How successful is the red vein treatment? The treated area becomes cooler and pale and some capillaries may disappear. It's normal to have a few treatments that may improve the area. The treatments are given once a month, allowing the skin to heal properly.
